from jelaine's blog. she posted her wish list, and i thought it was interesting so i figured i'd post mine too. i'll show you the stuff i wanted and have actually accomplished, and the stuff i'm still waiting for.

when i was younger, i waited eagerly for the day i would be self-supporting and independent. since moving to calif, i've slowly and surely gained ground. i picked up a job at 18 and have taken care of my own expenses since then. only recently tho, have i taken that to a higher degree.

  • i now have a full-time job that i enjoy, with a group of people i adore, in a great institution (the orange county performing arts center as a subscriptions assistant).
  • i'm paying for my own car and everything that comes with it (gasoline, insurance, maintenance, etc).
  • i've recently purchased a laptop (i named him, tina) that i'm paying for on my own.
  • i've bought and paid for a digital camera.
  • i'm in the process of moving out into a house with roommates. no more freeloading for me. that's my most recent step towards total independence.
  • i've found the most perfectest man on earth and he is mine!

all in all, i think i've done good.

i'm still working on:

  • starting a family, but that's still a long ways away. i hope the bf doesn't read this. don't wanna freak him out.
  • i would like to try to get my own house in the next couple of years. i should start saving up.
  • go back to school and get my bachelor's degree. (i can't afford to go to school right now.)
  • finally get to visit the homeland. that requires funding too, and i'm working on it.
  • after everything, upgrade my car to a charcoal grey acura tl. the man is going to get a blue one. its gonna be a his-hers kinda thing. hehe.

my ultimate dream is to take care of my family. i want to be able to help my parents as they've helped and taken care of me through all these years. i want them to retire knowing that my siblings and i will take care of them and provide for them. they've been working so long and so hard to support us and make sure we have the best of everything. i want them to see how well we've all turned out, and that its all because of their perseverance. i want my siblings to be the best they can be. to reach their goal with me right behind them cheering them on. i want my family to be happy and content and secure.

i hope i don't disappoint myself. or them.

i'm not very materialistic. all the things i'm working hard for are to secure my future and my family's future. its a scary thing, the idea of the unknown. but as i've said before, its something to look forward to.
