I'm listening to Joes talk to a friend on his cell and I realizing that I'm way too rude when I'm on the phone. I always go straight to the point, no small talk about how everyone's doing or how their holiday went or what their plans are for the weekend.

Even when answering the phone, because I see who is calling before I pick up, I go straight to "yeah?" or "hey, what's up?".

I've always been awkward with small talk. It makes me uncomfortable, like I'm being really fake. There are exceptions to the rule, like if its someone I really get along with or someone I genuinely want to catch up with.

It's weird, because in person I'm totally fine with light conversation. Oh well...
