New obsession. Spring Awakening. Its a musical based on a play written in 1891 by German, Frank Wedekind. It was so controversial that it was banned and not performed in its entirety for a 100 years.

The show is pretty much about teenage angst. It is about a group of teenagers who are growing up in a repressed society in Germany.

I love how they use rock for the music. It's perfect rock-out-when-you're-frustrated-or-angry music. And the entire lead cast are younger at me. They're all in their early twenties. How cool is that?

So I'm totally trying to figure out how to watch this show while we're in NYC next week. :-) Would anyone really notice if I disappeared for a couple of hours?
