yesterday was fun. the last time i was at sea world was when i was 12 and i can barely remember any of it. it's way smaller than i remember it to be. hehe.
it was good that joes and i decided to go on the friday instead of the weekend, because it wasn't too crowded. we didn't get on any of the rides. we decided to just watch the shows (the pet one was awesome! all the dogs were so cute!) and visit the exhibits.
did i tell you joes decided to buy a fancy smancy camera? yep, he jumped on the bandwagon. hehe. so he spent yesterday taking a bunch of pictures. and by a bunch, i mean around 300. he went crazy, man!
so we visited the sea lion feeding pool. those things are violent! if they see someone carrying a tray of fish ($5! so expensivo!), they start making noises and this one seal will totally stake the fish-carrier out. he will totally prop himself up on the wall and keep his mouth open until the person tosses the fish to him. if any other seal make the mistake of trying to hone in on his loot, he turns to that seal and howls (or whatever you call the sound that they make) at him until the other one goes away.
and then we went to the sting ray pool. joes was laughing at me because i didn't want to touch the thing, even if i was curious on how they feel like. littler kids were grabbing at the sting rays, and here i am not even getting near the pool. it was only partly 'coz i was kinda scared, but half of it was i didn't want to put my hand in the water. you don't know how much bacteria or whatever is in there!
same thing happened with the dolphin pool, although i was more willing to touch dolphin than a sting ray. i had to look for the closest sinks (which thankfully was located right by each pools for the visitors conveniece), before i even considered it though. but this one troublemaker dolphin passed us and caused a huge splash that got the people in our area wet. stupid dolphin! this one little kid was crying 'coz he got the brunt of it and was drenched from head to toe. he even got some water in his mouth. hehe. poor kid.
the whole getting wet thing killed my wanting to touch a dolphin. at least on that day. i might go back and do the whole "swimming with the dolphins" thing. that one looks like fun.
so our hotel is so awesome! we're staying at the westin horton plaza. they call their bed the heavenly bed. omg! it so is! we did not want to get up at all this morning.
plus the hotel is right smack dab in the middle of the gaslamp district. our hotel is literally a short block to the mall and everything else. we had dinner at this one sushi place, ra, and the food was really good. there's one in huntington beach so i think i'll check that out.
we're about to go sightsee. i just need to dry my hair and then we're heading to balboa park. i'm excited.
